SCAD x Harbor Collaboration Course: Week 6

Writer: Katherine NittiKatherine Nitti

Updated: Feb 16

Feedback

Molly:

  • Adjust camera angle for shot 2-3

  • Add variation in shot angle

  • Floor to wall transition?

    • Red on red in shot 4 is hard to read

  • Floor tracking more accurate

  • Fg/ mg element for parallax?

Vi:

  • Lighting confusing in shot 5

  • Move lights to the stage

  • Crowd has too much detail (backlit)

  • High res logo

Hailey:

  • Add flares in comp (xr stage blurs them)

  • Light her to match env in shot 2-3

Emma:

  • Adjust camera angle, maybe from the side? More dynamic/ variation

Overall Feedback:

  • Develop how the wall effect is transitioning the environment

  • Adjust lighting in hero shot - more dramatic, natural, and less distracting

  • More variation + dynamic camera angles

To Do

Team Overall

  • Wall spreading effect for shot 2-3 (JL, TX)

  • New iteration of fx + comp for shot 02 (JS, KN)

  • Lighting in UE environment (backlit crowd) (YE, TX, JS)

  • XR stage shoot!

Personal

  • New iteration of fx + comp for shot 02

    • Have sparkles follow through

    • Add flattening effect back?

    • Adjust movement to be less linear

    • Match to shot

Yejin Eom as model, environment by Julian Schenker, wall effect by Tianze Xu & Jingxing Liu

Tested how the effect may look if it were to flatten out and transition to the stage environment.

  • Same flattening effect as developed prior to plot changes.

  • Needs adjusted movement given new camera

  • Needs more sparkles along border as it merges

Added small burst of sparkles when foot lands.

I decided to use a wrangle and point velocity nodes because I prefer to be able to precisely adjust particles velocity/ movement.

Because of this, I also adjusted a basic wrangle that I've used before to have the particles spread outwards from the origin point and rotate slightly.

Saturday, Feb 15th

  • Matching the effect to the camera from the live action plate

  • Adjusting scale for new framing

  • Adjusting speed to match with virtual environments transition
