"Unicorn Running" Project Exploration

Up until now, many of my personal projects have been relatively static or slow. However, action sequences are a huge inspiration to me, since I've always loved their ability to immerse an audience and breathe life into a film. This personal project was a way for me to experiment with faster paced animation, all while being inspired by one of my favorite mythical creatures.

Animating the horse, which was sourced from online (as credited in my breakdown sheet), was a fresh but fun challenge. It allowed me to become very familiar with animating in Maya, and using the graph editor, dope sheet, and the overall pipeline.

For the camera, I experimented with rigging a camera in maya to follow paths, as well as a set target.

This project was intended to push me out of my comfort zone when it comes to movement and animation, and ended up as a very educational experience about layout, camera movement, and animation.
